We are a small family run neighbourhood café, operating since 2003 (formerly known as the Nuttshell Next Door) serving high-quality food, utilizing local ingredients whenever possible in beautiful downtown Lakefield. Home of the best verandah in town.

Every morning we serve fresh baking and breakfast and a selection of sandwiches with house-made soup and market salads throughout the day. We feature organic fair-trade, shade grown coffee by the cup or beans by the bag.

As often as possible we have chosen to support local farmers and growers as suppliers for our menus. Local produce is bought from local farmers, cheesemakers, butchers and produce when available.
